I am a Senior Software Developer with more than 5 years of experience working with global banks like Goldman Sachs and State Street.
I joined DreamsAI in Hong Kong in November 2020 and the experience so far has been nothing short of an adventure. Working with a diverse and talented team, solving interesting problems and exploring Hong Kong have been the highlights since I’ve joined and I am excited to see what else is to come.
Upbringing
I grew up in a small city – Patiala in Punjab, the North of India. I am a proud Punjabi and if you google Punjabi culture you will see that it’s all about living life to the fullest and not being afraid to take on any challenge that comes your way.
College
I completed my 4-year Civil engineering course from BITS Pilani, one of the most reputed colleges in India. Although my curriculum was to study designing building and airports, the college's zero attendance policy helped me find my passion in Computer Science and Finance which set the foundation for me to now confidently design complex systems from scratch.
Work Experience
I started my professional career with an internship at Goldman Sachs in Bangalore and then continued to stay on for the next 4 years learning about quant development and industry best practices from people that are best in their fields. I learned how to work with global teams, break down complex problems and deliver value for the growth of the company.
After Goldman Sachs, I moved on to work with State Street, where I again worked with Quant team as a Project Manager leading my team from understanding user requirements to designing and executing a technical solution. Although, I could only be with the company for around 8 months it helped me immensely to gain confidence in growing myself into a Project manager role.
Hobbies
I am a guy who loves to explore and indulge in different kinds of activities that help me nurture my physical, emotional and creative sides.
Painting
I started painting when I was about 10 years old; because my parents put me in painting class as I wasn't getting good grades in Art and Craft classes at school. But that turned out to be one of the best decisions my parents made because over the years painting has become an escape from the fast-paced world we are now a part of.
Hiking
I love to hike and I have been doing that since I moved to Bangalore in 2016 covering most of the major hikes near Bangalore. After moving to Hong Kong, which is a paradise for Hikers with amazing views and beautiful trails , I have started hiking over the weekends ,checking the easier ones off the list for now.

I found about DreamsAI on JobsDB, had a look at the website and seeing the talented people involved and reading the bio showed me how many opportunities there are to learn, develop and grow fast as a Senior Developer, Project Manager or a Tech Lead.
The interviewing and application process was very quick and exciting, it showed me a lot about what the culture of the company was. If I have to break down in percentages what made me join it would be:

DreamsAI have certainly met my expectations, it is a very exhilarating place. I love that we are in the stage where we are building the team and you can see the pieces fit together. And those pieces are some of the youngest and smartest people from across the globe.
As a young programmer, I wanted to be in a place where it’s all “boiling” – having the adrenaline rush of having to deal with very complex projects and tight deadlines, a team who’s mentality is to get the job done, push each other and share their knowledge.
